Everest Trail Race begins


Everest Trail Race has started from Solu Dudhkund Municipality-4, Patale.

67 runners from 13 nations including 5 Nepalese are participating in the trail race. Runners are participating from Nepal, Spain, Argentina, France, South Africa, Mexico, Belgium, Britain, Brazil, Algeria, Norway and Vietnam. Each runner is tracked by GPS system.

The race starts from Patale and passes through Chyangsar, Khoriya, Pikey Peak, Lamajura, Junbensi, Phungmuche, Tongnasa, Taksindu, Jubhing, Khairkhola, Phakding, Namche, Thame, Rinjo -la, Gokyo, Chola Pass, Everest Base Camp, Pheriche, Pangboche, Tengboche, Namche, Lukla, Kharikhola and will end at Phaplu in 15 days.

According to the organizer, the route will convey the message of environmental protection as well as help promote tourism year 2020. The Everest Trail Race takes place in the lower Everest region between 2,000 meters and 5400 meters altitude.

This race is one of the most organized and expensive races in Nepal. Each day, runners will run only one camp to next camp. Runners stay overnight at camp. The organizer provides all the food and camp facilities.
